Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Yoked Matchmaking LLC, East Texas, United States. Two people run it: Daniel and Jennifer Minter. When this policy says we, it means the two of us and nobody else.

This policy covers yokedmatchmaking.com, the member app, and everything you send us while you are a member or an applicant. Write to hello@yokedmatchmaking.com with any question about it. A real person answers.

The short version. We collect what we need to match you well and keep you safe, we read it ourselves, we show your profile only to someone we have personally introduced you to, and we do not sell any of it or advertise to you. Ever.

2. What we collect

WhatWhere it comes from
Your application
Name, email, phone, town, date of birth, occupation, and your written answers about your faith, your life, your relationships and what you are looking for.
You, on the application form.
Photographs and recordings
Your profile photographs, any video you record for us, any photograph or voice message you send inside a conversation, and photographs taken on a Yoked date.
You, in the app.
Identity verification
Your legal name and date of birth as they appear on your government photo ID, and whether the check passed.
Stripe Identity. See section 5.
Registry screening
A record of which sex offender registries we searched for you, on what date, and by whom.
Public registry searches we run ourselves.
Your conversations
Messages, photographs and voice messages between you and a member we have introduced you to.
You and your match, in the app.
What you tell us
Messages to us, what you say after a date, who you would rather not be matched with, reports you make, and prayer or advice requests.
You.
Billing status
Whether your membership is paid, when the period ends, and whether it is cancelling. We never see or store your card number.
Stripe. See section 5.
Technical
Your IP address when you submit a public form, used only to rate limit and to spot automated submissions. If you turn on notifications, the token your browser gives us to send them.
Your device.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not use third-party analytics that profile you across other websites, and we do not buy information about you from anybody.

3. Why we hold it

  • To decide whether to accept your application. We read every one ourselves.
  • To match you. Your answers are the whole basis on which we introduce one person to another.
  • To keep people safe. ID verification, registry screening, reviewing photographs before they are delivered, and reading a conversation when there is a reason to.
  • To run your membership. Billing, notifications, and telling you what is happening with a date or an introduction.
  • To meet the law, including responding to lawful requests as set out in our Law Enforcement Guidelines.

4. Who can see it

  • Daniel and Jennifer. Both of us can see everything above. Nobody else inside Yoked can, because there is nobody else.
  • A member we have personally introduced you to. They see your first name, age, town, your profile photographs and what you choose to say to them. They never see your application answers, your date feedback, your do-not-match list, or anything you tell us privately.
  • Nobody else on the platform. There is no browsing, no search and no directory. A member cannot find you unless we introduce you.
  • The companies in section 5, only to the extent each one needs to do its job.
  • Law enforcement, where the law requires it or where someone is in danger. See the Law Enforcement Guidelines.

A photograph taken on a Yoked date is never published anywhere without the written consent of both people in it, given separately, after the fact.

5. The companies that handle data for us

  • Supabase hosts the database, the file storage and the app's back end.
  • Stripe takes payment. Your card details go to Stripe and never to us.
  • Stripe Identity verifies your government photo ID. The document itself is handled by Stripe; what comes back to us is your verified name, your date of birth and the result.
  • Resend delivers our email.
  • Your own browser or phone maker delivers push notifications, if you have turned them on.

Each of these is a service provider working on our instructions. None of them is permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

6. What we never do

  • We do not sell your information, and we never have.
  • We do not share it with data brokers, advertisers, or other dating services.
  • We do not advertise to you.
  • We do not make automated decisions about you. A person decides everything: whether you are accepted, who you are introduced to, and whether something you sent is all right.
  • We do not tell anybody that you passed on them.

7. How long we keep it

  • While you are a member, we keep everything above.
  • If you cancel, we keep your profile and answers for twelve months in case you come back, then delete them unless you ask us to sooner.
  • If your application is declined, we keep it for twelve months so that we can recognise a repeat application, then delete it.
  • Safety records, meaning reports, blocks, removals, and the record of identity and registry checks, are kept for as long as we are trading. Deleting the record of why somebody was removed would let them come back, and it would leave the person who reported them unprotected.
  • Records we are required to keep, such as payment records for tax purposes, are kept for as long as the law requires.

8. Your choices

  • See what we hold. Ask, and we will send it to you.
  • Correct it. Most of it you can edit in the app. For the rest, ask us.
  • Delete it. Ask, and we will delete everything except the safety and legal records in section 7. We will tell you exactly what is left and why.
  • Cancel. Two taps in the app. No email, no phone call, no reason required, and no retention attempt.
  • Turn off notifications in the app or in your phone's settings.

Write to hello@yokedmatchmaking.com for any of these. We will answer within thirty days and normally much sooner, and we will never charge you for it or make it difficult.

9. Texas residents

Under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act you may confirm whether we process your personal data, obtain a copy of it, correct it, and have it deleted. You may also appeal if we refuse a request; write to the address above and we will reply with our reasoning. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for targeted advertising or profiling, so there is nothing to opt out of on those grounds.

We are a Texas business serving Texas residents, and we store data in the United States.

10. Children

Yoked is for adults 18 and over without exception, and our stated eligibility is 20 to 45. Every member's age is verified against a government photo ID before they can join. We do not knowingly collect anything from a child. If you believe a minor has reached any part of Yoked, tell us immediately at hello@yokedmatchmaking.com and we will act the same day.

11. How we protect it

  • Your photographs are stored privately and are never publicly reachable. They are served through links that expire.
  • Access to the database is restricted per member at the database itself, so one member's account cannot read another's records.
  • The matchmaker console is reachable only by us, and getting into it requires an account we have marked as an administrator.
  • Payment card details never touch our systems.

No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise. If something happens that puts your information at risk, we will tell you and we will tell you plainly.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change anything that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell members in the app. We will not quietly broaden what we do with your information.
