Membership Terms

Version 2026-07-23a · These are short, and we wrote them to be read.

Yoked is operated by Yoked Matchmaking LLC, a Texas limited liability company (“Yoked”, “we”, “us”). These terms are the agreement between you and us.

1. What Yoked is

Yoked is a matchmaking and events membership for Christian singles in East Texas. Two people, Daniel and Jennifer Minter, read your application, vet you personally, and introduce you to people they believe you are suited to.

Yoked is not a swiping app. There is no browsing, no directory of members, and nothing to swipe through. Introductions are made by people, not by an algorithm alone, and you are introduced to one person at a time. While an introduction is open, that is the only member you are talking to.

2. Applying

Applying is free and commits you to nothing. We will never ask you for payment information before we have approved you.

To be approved you must:

  • be 20 to 45 years old. We are only matching this range at present; if you are outside it we will hold your application rather than decline it, and tell you so
  • complete the application honestly and in full
  • pass government photo ID verification (through Stripe Identity)
  • pass a sex offender registry check against the national and Texas registries

Yoked reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to approve, decline, defer, suspend, or place any applicant on a waiting list for any lawful reason. Approval is never guaranteed, and we are not required to provide a detailed explanation of an application decision.

We use this discretion to protect the safety, integrity, capacity, and purpose of the Yoked community.

3. What we check, and what we do not

We verify your government-issued photo ID.

We screen every member against the national and Texas sex offender registries.

Yoked does not conduct criminal background checks on its members.

We do not run credit checks, employment checks, or criminal history reports. We are not a consumer reporting agency, and nothing we do is a background check as that term is used in the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Meeting anyone new carries risk. Meet in public. Tell someone where you are going. Trust your instincts. Our screening reduces risk. It does not remove it, and we will never pretend otherwise.

4. Membership and payment

  • Membership is $50 per month, charged automatically each month until you cancel.
  • The first 50 founding members pay half price for their first two months, $25 per month instead of $50. The discount is applied automatically at checkout, the first charge is taken on the day you join, and after the second month billing continues at the full $50 per month unless you have cancelled.
  • Membership is capped at 100 people. When it is full, new applicants join a waiting list.
  • Payment is processed by Stripe. Yoked never sees or stores your card number.

We will always show you the date of your next charge inside the app, before it happens. You should never be surprised by a payment to us.

5. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, yourself, in two taps.

Open the app → YouManage membershipCancel. That is all.

  • You do not have to email us, call us, or ask anyone’s permission.
  • You do not have to give a reason.
  • You will not be talked out of it.

When you cancel, you remain a member until the end of the period you have already paid for. You will not be charged again.

If you cancel during your first two founding months, you will not be charged again. The half-price months you have already paid for are not refunded, and you remain a member until the end of the month you are in.

6. Membership fees and no-refund policy

Membership fees pay for Yoked’s individualized matchmaking services and continued access to the membership, not for a guaranteed introduction, date, relationship, engagement, or marriage. Our work begins when your paid membership begins and may include personally reviewing your application and profile, evaluating compatibility, considering available match options, communicating with potential matches, facilitating introductions, planning member opportunities and events, and providing direct member support. We devote substantial individualized time to this process and may spend hours reviewing and considering a member’s application and potential matches.

Except where a refund is required by law, where Yoked confirms that a charge was duplicated or made in error, or where Yoked ceases operations (see §11), all membership charges are final and non-refundable. This includes months in which:

  • no suitable introduction is available or made;
  • another member does not reply to you, or ends or withdraws from a match;
  • you end or withdraw from a match, or ask us to close one;
  • an introduction does not result in a date or relationship; or
  • you do not use some or all of the available membership services.

Cancelling prevents future renewal charges. It does not create a refund, partial refund, or prorated credit for the current billing period or any prior period. You will continue to have membership access through the end of the period already paid for, unless your membership is terminated for a safety or conduct violation under these terms.

You may contact Daniel and Jennifer directly at any time with a question or concern about your membership, billing, or matchmaking experience. We will personally review the concern, but contacting us does not create a right to a refund or guarantee a particular resolution.

Nothing in this section limits any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

7. What we promise, and what we cannot

We promise to personally review each completed application, to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider available match options, to treat members as individuals rather than entries in an algorithm, and to remain personally reachable to our members.

We cannot promise that a suitable match will be available, that you will receive any minimum number of introductions, that another member will reply to you, or that an introduction will occur within a particular time. We also cannot promise a date, relationship, engagement, marriage, or any other outcome.

Nobody is ever required to continue. When we introduce two members we open a conversation between them; we will not force, pressure, or require you or another member to reply, to keep talking, to attend a date, or to pursue a relationship. If either of you tells us it is not right, or if we do not believe a match should continue, we will close it. Membership is not conditional on continuing any particular match.

Our decisions may take into account compatibility, stated preferences, faith, values, location, age, availability, safety considerations, the current membership pool, and other information we reasonably believe is relevant to a thoughtful introduction.

8. How you must behave

Membership requires you to:

  • be honest about who you are, your age, your marital status, and your intentions
  • treat everyone you meet through Yoked with respect and dignity
  • show up to dates you have agreed to, or cancel with at least 24 hours’ notice
  • never send sexually explicit messages or images through Yoked
  • never harass, threaten, coerce, or pressure another member
  • never use Yoked to solicit or arrange commercial sex, prostitution, or escort services
  • never engage in, promote, or facilitate human trafficking or sex trafficking, or the sexual exploitation of any person
  • never create, share, request, link to, or possess child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and never engage in, depict, promote, or facilitate the sexual exploitation or abuse of a minor in any form. Yoked is for adults 18 and over, without exception
  • never commit, threaten, depict, or promote sexual violence of any kind
  • never share, post, or threaten to share intimate or sexual content of any person without that person’s consent (“non-consensual content,” sometimes called revenge material), whether real or fabricated
  • never aid, abet, encourage, or assist the abuse, exploitation, or harm of any person
  • never use Yoked for any unlawful purpose, or to defraud, scam, deceive, or impersonate anyone

Child sexual exploitation or abuse in any form (including CSAM), sexual violence, human trafficking and sex trafficking, the sexual exploitation of any person, and non-consensual intimate content are strictly prohibited on Yoked. There is zero tolerance: anyone who engages in, promotes, or facilitates any of these will be removed immediately and permanently, and will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or law enforcement as the law requires.

We read conversations when we need to, to keep people safe, to look into a report, and to help when someone asks us to. We are not reading for entertainment. We would rather tell you that plainly than pretend we cannot.

We will remove you, immediately and without a refund, if you make someone unsafe. This is the one term we will never be flexible about.

9. Dates, check-in and your safety contact

When you book a date through Yoked:

  • we know where you are going and when, and we may share that with the venue
  • we ask you to check in when you arrive, so we know you got there
  • at any point on a date you can press Something’s wrong in the app. It reaches Daniel and Jennifer immediately, at any hour, and you never need to give a reason
  • if you press it and we cannot reach you, we will contact the safety contact you gave us, and tell them where you went and who with

We do not track you and we do not time you. There is no clock running on your evening. Stay out as late as you like. You may leave your safety contact blank and still use Yoked, but we would rather you did not.

Standing someone up may result in a fee and, on a second occasion, removal from matching. We will speak to you first. A machine will never make that decision about you.

10. Your privacy

  • Your answers are read by Daniel and Jennifer only.
  • Your photos are never public and never browsable. Only someone we have personally introduced you to can see them.
  • We never tell anyone that you passed on them. If you ask us to close a match, the other person is told only that it closed. Nobody at Yoked is ever rejected out loud.
  • What you tell us after a date is private. The other person never sees it. Ever.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not advertise to you.

11. If Yoked closes

If we ever shut down, we will tell you, stop billing immediately, and refund any month you have paid for and not received. We would rather end honestly than quietly.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects what you pay or what we promise, we will email you before it takes effect, and you can cancel. We will not change the deal on you and hope you do not notice.

13. Resolving a disagreement

We would always rather you just talked to us. Most things are a phone call.

13.1  Money disputes: arbitration

If our disagreement is about money, meaning a charge, a refund, a billing error, what you were owed, what you were promised, or anything else about the cost of membership, then you and Yoked agree to settle it through binding arbitration, one person, rather than in court.

  • Arbitration is individual. You agree not to bring or join a class action, collective action, or representative action about a money dispute.
  • Yoked pays the arbitrator’s fees for any claim under $10,000. You should never be unable to raise a billing complaint because it costs more to raise than it is worth.
  • You may take a money dispute to small claims court instead, if you prefer. We will not object.

13.2  Harm is different, and it goes to a court

This section does NOT apply to any claim arising out of physical harm.

If you are hurt, meaning assaulted, injured, stalked, threatened, or otherwise harmed by another member or at an event, or if you say that Yoked’s own conduct or negligence contributed to it, then nothing in these terms limits you.

You keep every right you have: to bring your claim in court, in front of a jury if you want one, to join with others if others were hurt too, and to say publicly what happened to you.

We will not hide behind arbitration if we let someone down in the way that matters most.

This carve-out also applies to any claim of sexual misconduct, harassment, or abuse. Nothing in these terms prevents you from reporting anything to the police, to a regulator, or to anyone else. Nothing here is a gag.

13.3  Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any claim not subject to arbitration will be brought in the courts of Smith County, Texas.

14. Law enforcement requests

We cooperate with valid legal process. Law enforcement and other government officials with a lawful request may reach us at hello@yokedmatchmaking.com. We review every request, and we preserve or disclose records where the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith it is needed to protect someone’s safety, prevent harm, or look into a violation of these terms. We respond to the extent required by applicable law. The required legal process, verification, and account identifiers are set out in our Law Enforcement Guidelines. Member conduct rules, including the prohibition on all illegal activity, are set out in our Community Guidelines & Acceptable Use policy, which is part of these terms.
